1934 floods. Interior of Clubhouse dance floor with Christmas decorations announcing the Season. Warping of the floor resulted from these floods. The floor subsequently described as having a ‘bow’ with slopes to the side. Not only was the fabric of the building damaged but numerous club records, competition pennants and trophies were lost as well.
Cans of picnic foods were stored in lockers. Their labels floated off in the flood so at picnics it was an unknown meal being heated.....potato salad or is it Irish Stew?
