In 1952 the Age reported: “Two Victorians have been nominated by the Australian Canoe Federation for inclusion in the team for this year’s Olympic games. They are Keith Jackson, 19, of the Fairfield club and Glen Croft, 21, of Rudder Grange. They have been nominated for the 10,000 metre and 1000 metre Canadian pairs' events. In recent trials, on the Albert Park Lake, Jackson and Croft bettered the winning time in the 10,000 metre pairs race at the 1948 London Games by more than 36 seconds”
